It’s time for a brand new music Monday, if you’re feeling the Monday blues then grab your BassBuds and have a listen to the latest big tunes to cheer yourself up.

Calvin Harris – Summer

World renowned DJ and producer Calvin Harris has returned with the aptly named single ‘Summer.’ It is the first cut off of his upcoming forth studio album. The single is an upbeat summer club anthem that will easily climb the charts with its dance beats and simple lyrics. ‘Summer’ has the world’s most generic music video, with lots of half naked ladies and fast cars being the main feature, but it will probably appeal to the masses. The single is out now and Calvin’s album is expected to follow soon.

Ed Sheeran – Sing

After extensive touring with Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran has found the time to return with ‘Sing.’ This track will be the lead single from his sophomore album ‘x’ (also known as ‘multiply’). It is a slightly different sound from what we are used to with Ed and has distinct R&B tones to it. After a section of Ed singing in a very high falsetto, the beat drops into something much funkier. The video sees Ed playing his acoustic guitar in an empty arena with spot lights focused on him. The full song will be revealed tonight and the new album will be out on June 23rd.

Foxes – Holding On To Heaven

Singer Foxes shot to fame after featuring on Zedd’s hit ‘Clarity,’ but now she is releasing her third solo single ‘Holding On To Heaven.’ This mid tempo track is about holding on to a romance even though she knows it is not the best thing for her. ‘Holding On To Heaven’ has a quirky video that is reminiscent of Zoe Deschanel and Florence and The Machine. It shows two side of Foxes personality a happy and outgoing persona, and a lonely and glum persona. Foxes debut album is due to be released on May 12 and ‘Holding On To Heaven’ is out on May 4th.

Aloe Blacc – The Man

Aloe Blacc is at the number one spot at the minute with his single ‘The Man.’ Having disappearing for a while, he has returned with this empowering anthem which even features a sample of Elton John’s ‘Your Song’. The video is unusually poignant for a pop artist, it references icons such as Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali. The overall message of the video seems to be fighting for what you believe in and not giving up. ‘The Man’ is out now and Aloe is set to appear on season six of The Voice in America as an advisor.

Clean Bandit – Extraordinary feat Sharna Bass

Following up the success of their track ‘Rather Be,’ Clean Bandit are back with their latest single ‘Extraordinary’ which this time features British babe Sharna Bass. They’ve stuck with their formula of combining electronic dance music with classical instruments and it still sounds fresh and fun. The video sees the group and Sharna having fun in Cuba with the locals, and making the most of the beautiful beaches. ‘Extraordinary’ is due for release on May 19th and the album ‘New Eyes’ will be out on June 2nd.
