Musical Wednesday’s – This Week’s Top Picks

Posted by Team BassBuds on

This week’s musical Wednesday’s is a mix of established stars and up and coming acts, whatever you’re into we’ve got the latest new videos and singles for you to check out. You can see this week’s top 5 below.

1. Katy B – ‘Still’

BRIT School graduate Katy B has unveiled the video for her latest single ‘Still.’ The song is the third track to be released from Katy’s album ‘Little Red,’ which also produced the singles ‘5 AM’ and ‘Crying For No Reason.’ Katy shows an emotional and vulnerable side in this minimalist video which is shot in entirely white surroundings. It’s a song about reminiscing over a past romance and how Katy hasn’t moved on as she still thinks about her ex all the time. The single is out now and you can check out the video below.

2. London Grammar – ‘Sights’

The British trio are back with their brand new single ‘Sights’ which comes from their hit album ‘If You Wait.’ The track is due to be released on June first and is a slow paced ballad which is lead by Hannah Reid’s sultry vocals. London Grammar have already been announced for festivals such as T In The Park, Wilderness and Isle Of Wight so keep your eyes out for them over the summer.

3. Pitbull feat. G.R.L – ‘Wild Wild Love’

Pitbull has released the video for his latest single ‘Wild Wild Love’ which sees him collaborating with girl group G.R.L. In typical Pitbull style the video is set at the play boy mansion and sees him surrounded by scantily playmates, meanwhile the ladies from G.R.L are attempting to get Pittbull to sign up to an undisclosed deal. It’s a very chart friendly track that is sure to do well, however it might have been nice to see Pitbull try something a little bit different.

4. Sam Smith – Stay With Me

Sam Smith is yet to release his debut album but judging by his latest single ‘Stay With Me’ it looks set to be a good one. This down beat track allows Smith’s unique voice to shine and it is complimented beautifully by a harmonious choir. The video for ‘Stay With Me’ tells the simplistic story of how Smith struggles with casual one night stands, but does not want to deal with the pain of being alone. The album ‘The Lonely Hour’ is due out on May 26th but until this single should keep fans satisfied until then.

5. Rita Ora – I Will Never Let You Down’

Rita Ora may have been busy shooting for her role in the upcoming 50 Shades Of Grey film, but she has still managed to find the time to release ‘I Will Never Let You Down.’ The song will feature on her sophomore album which is due for release this year and if this single is anything to go on, it will be less dance heavy but remain chart friendly. ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ is a slightly odd video as it flicks between black and white and bright colour which makes it seem confused. It doesn’t know whether it is supposed to look chic and serious or fun and bubbly. The song will be out in the UK on May 11th.
